We're hosting school role-play every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All at 1:00 AM server time (GMT +1), I have to admit this is pretty cruel for the ones in European time-zone (I'm in European time-zone as well, I just have a messed up sleeping pattern) but hope-fully you'll be able to attend on Fridays.
This is school role-play is restricted for teenagers affiliated with gangs only, and as teachers it is our responsibility to drag other kids away from the gang-life and persuade them into not joining them. If you attend, I'd like for instance to see kids confused about what decision they're going to make, considering that majority of the kids that are affiliated with gangs are already brainwashed. Just as a reminder the reason why you were told to role-play a kid in his early-mid teens is because it is easy to manipulate young kids into joining gangs, but it is also easy to manipulate them into not joining them.
So when your character has kids on the block telling him that it's cool to gang-bang but on the other hand has teachers in school telling him that it's not, it'll drive your character crazy and eventually we, the high-ranks are going to notice that and see it as the perfect time to initiate you seeing as you're slowly fading away from the gang-life. And by the time you figure out that this isn't the life that your character wants to live it'll already be too late because there is no way out.
This kind of stuff drives kids crazy and emotionally unstable and it makes them resort to drugs as a getaway from the fucked up life that they're living. And eventually the only way of taking their anger out is murder, retaliating on other gangs. This IS the real reason why gang bangers either end up dead or in prison. This IS realism at it's best. However, I can't tell you how to develop your character but there's my two cents, it is up to you whether you want to follow up on that or not but character development comes naturally when your character gradually starts following this route.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About the school role-play now, I highly suggest you take a look at this movie trailer and if it intrigues you look out for the full version of the movie and watch it all, it'll be something like that basically.
Because we're the ones hosting this, we get to choose who gets to participate in our school role-play sessions and who doesn't. And don't get me wrong it's not the case of me being egoistic or power-hungry here but I want to keep it realistic and not invite all the "noobs" if you will, that can't role-play anything at all.
I expect your character to stand up against the teacher and show off in front of his friends.
I expect your character to fight other kids at school.
I expect your character to be disrespectful to the teacher sometimes.
But what I don't want to see and I can't stress this enough, is people just walking around back and forth in class whenever they feel like and fucking around all the time. I won't have that. I expect all of you to be mature and not troll, failing to follow this rule will result not only on you not getting invited anymore, but your entire faction. So you'll fuck up the opportunity for everyone, not just yourself. So think twice before you start trolling and acting like a complete dumbass.
Each faction that gets invited to participate in this event will role-play that they are going to a local school (for example: Jefferson High) whereas we'll role-play going to Will. J Reid high-school in Long Beach. But OOC'ly we're all going to the same school.
We're using the City Hall as a school OOC'ly because its interior is as close as you can get to a class-room.
When you're in class, use /ame and /w rather than using /me's and all sorts of commands that are clogging up the chat.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the moment it's just us and the Jefferson Community (a bunch of teenagers surrounded by gang-life) that are doing this. However if you and the teenager-side of your faction would like to participate in this event send me a PM on the LS-RP forums using this format:
